How to itemise Terizla and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Terizla

Terizla relies heavily on durability and skill-based damage because his passive Body of Smith converts attack speed into physical attack while granting damage reduction as his health drops. Due to his slow skill animations and frontline role, he needs sustained healing to survive prolonged skirmishes. This build focuses on maximizing his skill damage and spell vamp to sustain through continuous casts of Execution Strike. By enhancing his offensive scaling while adding defensive layers, Terizla can confidently initiate engagements with Penalty Zone, pull multiple targets, absorb heavy focused fire at low health, and turn the tide of teamfights through massive area damage.

Build order

  1. 1 Warrior Boots
  2. 2 Bloodlust Axe
  3. 3 War Axe
  4. 4 Queen's Wings
  5. 5 Blade of Despair
  6. 6 Immortality

Item by item

Warrior Boots provides essential physical defense during the laning phase. The unique passive Valor increases defense when taking physical damage, which seamlessly synergizes with Body of Smith to make Terizla exceptionally resilient in early EXP lane trades. Securing this early movement speed and physical protection enables Terizla to position effectively for Execution Strike and safely contest early map objectives around the Turtle.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Valor: Gain 4 extra Physical Defense for 3s when taking Physical Damage, up to 20.

Bloodlust Axe

Early

Bloodlust Axe provides crucial spell vamp that powers Terizla's sustain throughout the game. Since his damage comes almost entirely from abilities like Execution Strike rather than basic attacks, this item allows him to restore significant health during combat. Combined with Body of Smith, the health restored from damaging multiple enemies allows Terizla to stay active on the frontline without needing frequent retreats to base.

War Axe

Core

War Axe grants physical attack and additional spell vamp that stacks through the Fighting Spirit passive as Terizla remains in combat. Because Penalty Zone and Execution Strike hit enemies multiple times, Terizla quickly accumulates full stacks to deal extra true damage. This power spike drastically elevates his teamfight presence, ensuring his slow, heavy strikes deal devastating damage to whole enemy groups.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Fighting Spirit: Dealing damage grants 12 extra Physical Attack and 2% extra Spell Vamp per second for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Deal 10% extra True Damage according to Base Damage at full stacks.####[C8This effect is reduced to 50% for Marksmen, Mages, and Supports.]

Queen's Wings serves as a vital survival tool by activating its Demonize passive when Terizla reaches low health. The extra damage reduction and bonus spell vamp stack directly with Body of Smith, granting extreme durability at crucial moments. This grants Terizla the resilience needed to leap into enemy formations using Penalty Zone and survive continuous damage while casting Execution Strike.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Demonize: When HP drops below 40%, gains 20% Damage Reduction and 35% extra Spell Vamp for 5s (60s cooldown).

Blade of Despair massively boosts physical attack, amplifying the damage of Execution Strike and Penalty Zone. Its Despair passive enhances damage against targets with low health, allowing the final explosion of Revenge Strike to finish off fleeing enemies. Purchasing this item transforms Terizla from a primary tank disrupter into a lethal frontline threat capable of wiping out wounded foes.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Despair: Dealing damage to non-Minion enemies below 50% HP increases Physical Attack by 25% for 2s (takes effect before the damage is dealt).

Immortality provides a critical safety net during late-game teamfights by reviving Terizla upon death with a protective shield and health. Because Body of Smith grants maximum damage reduction when health is low, Terizla revives in a highly resilient state. This allows him to immediately cast Penalty Zone or Execution Strike to turn late engagements around the Lord in his team's favor.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against heavy physical damage in early lane

Prioritise completing Warrior Boots before moving on to damage components. Stacking physical defense from Valor mitigates incoming physical harassment, making trades with Execution Strike much safer. Delaying Bloodlust Axe slightly ensures you survive aggressive early trades from enemy laners while securing contested early objectives like the Turtle.

When your team needs maximum frontline initiation

Prioritise Queen's Wings right after your core offensive items instead of delaying it for Blade of Despair. Rushing defensive stats magnifies the damage reduction from Body of Smith, allowing Terizla to fearlessly initiate engagements using Penalty Zone without getting burst down before his team can follow up.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Terizla's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
