How to itemise Khaleed and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Khaleed

Khaleed relies heavily on early game aggression and quick bursts powered by Sand Walk and Desert Tornado. However, his physical offense decays if he cannot sustain through extended skirmishes, while Quicksand Guard leaves him stationary and vulnerable to focused damage. This build focuses on maximizing his initial physical damage burst and spell vamp sustain, transforming him into an unstoppable early-to-mid game initiator. Blade of the Heptaseas synergizes perfectly with Sand Walk to deal massive initial burst, while Bloodlust Axe and War Axe sustain his prolonged casts of Desert Tornado. Finally, Oracle boosts Quicksand Guard's self-healing, ensuring he remains a durable frontline force.

Item by item

Warrior Boots give Khaleed vital physical defense during early EXP lane trades. As an aggressive fighter who initiates directly into the enemy minion wave with Desert Tornado, taking physical damage is inevitable. The physical defense gained from taking physical hits allows Khaleed to survive early trades, charge Sand Walk safely, and continuously pressure his opponent while denying minion waves.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Valor: Gain 4 extra Physical Defense for 3s when taking Physical Damage, up to 20.

This item drastically enhances Khaleed's initial burst combo. When Khaleed glides in with a fully charged Sand Walk passive, the empowered basic attack pairs with Ambush to slow and heavily damage his target. This massive initial burst sets up a guaranteed hit for his multi-phase Desert Tornado, allowing Khaleed to easily execute backline squishies or force enemy EXP laners out of the lane.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Ambush: If no damage is taken or dealt within 5s (excluding from Minions or Creeps), the next Basic Attack will deal an additional 160 Physical Damage and slow the target by 40% for 1.5s.

Bloodlust Axe

Core

Desert Tornado deals multiple physical damage instances in an area, making spell vamp crucial for Khaleed. Bloodlust Axe converts every spinning hit of Desert Tornado into continuous health restoration. This keeps Khaleed sustained during chaotic team fights without forcing him to rely solely on Quicksand Guard, enabling him to stay aggressively on the frontlines while dealing physical damage.

War Axe

Core

War Axe rewards Khaleed for remaining engaged in extended combat. Dealing damage with Desert Tornado builds Fighting Spirit stacks rapidly, granting extra physical attack, spell vamp, and true damage at full stacks. This continuous damage output ensures Khaleed maintains high offensive pressure late into skirmishes, allowing him to brawl effectively against durable enemy tanks and fighters who attempt to survive his initial burst.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Fighting Spirit: Dealing damage grants 12 extra Physical Attack and 2% extra Spell Vamp per second for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Deal 10% extra True Damage according to Base Damage at full stacks.####[C8This effect is reduced to 50% for Marksmen, Mages, and Supports.]

Oracle

Late

Oracle directly amplifies Khaleed's Quicksand Guard channeling, increasing both the HP restoration and shield potency he receives while channeling. When Khaleed needs to recover health mid-fight or soak incoming focus fire, Oracle ensures Quicksand Guard restores massive amounts of missing health rapidly. This allows him to sustain through heavy enemy damage and re-enter the fight fully recharged.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Bless: Received Shield and HP Regen effects are increased by 30%.

Immortality grants Khaleed a vital second chance when initiating aggressive team fights with Raging Sandstorm. Charging into enemy lines leaves him exposed to target focus after his crowd control finishes. Reviving after death with a temporary shield provides a safety net, giving Khaleed time to cast Quicksand Guard or escape, ensuring his risky initiations do not result in immediate punishment.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

When enemy physical damage dealers dominate early lane trades

Complete Warrior Boots immediately before finishing your offensive items. The stacking physical defense from Valor helps you withstand continuous trade damage while channeling Desert Tornado against aggressive physical EXP laners, letting you farm safely and maintain control over your lane momentum without dying early.

When needing extra self-sustain against burst damage compositions

Prioritize building Oracle right after your core offensive items rather than delaying it. Boosting the healing efficiency of Quicksand Guard allows Khaleed to recover massive chunks of lost health during short breaks in combat, denying burst damage dealers the ability to execute him before he can react.

When falling behind in gold or forced to act as primary initiator

Rush Immortality earlier after completing Bloodlust Axe. Since charging in with Raging Sandstorm exposes Khaleed to heavy focus fire, having the resurrection effect early ensures you can aggressively initiate fights for your team without feeding the enemy team gold when your baseline durability is insufficient.
