How to itemise Irithel and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Irithel

Irithel is a unique Marksman whose passive, Jungle Heart, allows her to execute Basic Attacks while moving. However, her low initial survivability and reliance on mobility to charge extra bolts dictate her item choices. This build focuses on maximizing her Movement Speed and Critical Chance to amplify her mobile playstyle. Items like Windtalker and Great Dragon Spear sync directly with her ability to continuously move, charging Jungle Heart rapidly. When combined with the Physical Defense reduction from Strafe, her boosted critical strikes during Heavy Crossbow can decimate enemy teams during Gold Lane engagements and major fights around the Lord.

Build order

  1. 1 Swift Boots
  2. 2 Windtalker
  3. 3 Great Dragon Spear
  4. 4 Berserker's Fury
  5. 5 Malefic Roar
  6. 6 Immortality

Item by item

Swift Boots

Early

Swift Boots provide essential early Attack Speed and Movement Speed to make Irithel's laning phase manageable. Because Jungle Heart requires continuous movement to charge additional crossbow bolts, extra movement speed early on allows her to poke efficiently in the Gold Lane. This mobility enables her to reposition safely away from enemy ganks while maintaining consistent Basic Attacks as she transitions into her core critical strike items.

Windtalker

Core

Windtalker is the cornerstone item for Irithel's early power spike. Bonus Movement Speed directly synergizes with Jungle Heart, helping her charge extra bolts faster while strafing. The Typhoon passive unleashes Magic Damage that can crit, multiplying the threat of her multi-bolt attacks. Once completed, her minion wave clear dramatically improves and her ability to kite enemies during Heavy Crossbow becomes significantly more lethal.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Typhoon: Every 5-2s (reduced by 0.2s for each Basic Attack), the next Basic Attack will hit up to 3 enemy units for 150-362 Magic Damage. (This attack can Crit and the damage increases to 200% against Minions.)

Great Dragon Spear synergizes perfectly with Irithel's ultimate, Heavy Crossbow. When she casts Heavy Crossbow to leap forward, Supreme Warrior triggers a massive Movement Speed buff. This burst of speed allows her to maneuver aggressively, stack Jungle Heart rapidly, and stay at optimal range. Combined with Critical Chance, finishing this item transforms her from a lane poker into a terrifying mobile teamfight carry.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Supreme Warrior: After casting an Ultimate, increase Movement Speed by 15% for 7.5s. This effect has a 15s cooldown.

Berserker's Fury turns Irithel's enhanced Basic Attacks during Heavy Crossbow into devastating area-of-effect nukes. Since Jungle Heart fires multiple bolts per attack, high Critical Chance ensures constant critical hits. The Doom passive further boosts her Physical Attack whenever she crits, multiplying the splash damage dealt by her ultimate and allowing her to rapidly melt grouped enemy squishies.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Doom: Critical strikes grant 5% extra Physical Attack for 2s.

Malefic Roar ensures Irithel breaks through tanky frontlines late in the game. Her first skill, Strafe, reduces enemy Physical Defense, and Armor Buster amplifies this by converting enemy armor into massive Physical Penetration. This combination allows her enhanced bolts during Heavy Crossbow to pierce heavily armored targets, preventing defensive heroes from blocking her path during crucial fights around the Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 40%.

Immortality

Situational

Immortality covers Irithel's inherent fragility as a low-durability Marksman. Because she must continuously move near combat to deal optimal damage with Jungle Heart, she remains vulnerable to sudden burst damage. Immortal provides a second life upon death, granting a protective shield and giving Leo time to leap away using Heavy Crossbow or slow pursuers with Force of The Queen to reset.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against high physical defense tank compositions

Prioritize Malefic Roar immediately after Berserker's Fury instead of delaying it. While mobility items build up Jungle Heart, enemies stacking defense will resist her splash damage. Combining Armor Buster with Strafe's defense reduction early ensures her multi-bolt attacks melt heavy frontlines before major teamfights.

When facing heavy burst threats or aggressive divers

Prioritize Immortality earlier after securing core critical items like Windtalker and Berserker's Fury. Delaying Great Dragon Spear slightly reduces mobility during Heavy Crossbow, but the resurrection shield prevents assassin dives from neutralizing you before you can slow pursuers with Force of The Queen and retreat safely.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Irithel's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
