How to itemise Guinevere and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Guinevere

Guinevere excels at dive-heavy knock-up combos using Spatial Migration followed by Violet Requiem to delete squishy targets. However, her aggressive playstyle leaves her vulnerable if her initiation fails or if enemies survive her initial burst. This build bridges the gap between pure magic burst and frontline durability. Magic damage items empower her passive Super Magic and skill scaling, while cooldown reduction lets her spam Energy Wave to reset her cooldowns faster. Defensive additions ensure she survives counterattacks after leaping into teamfights. By balancing penetration, sustain, and survivability, this item path enables Guinevere to execute lethal combos and remain a durable frontline threat during prolonged engagements.

Item by item

Magic Boots

Early

Lowering skill cooldowns early is vital for Guinevere. Decreasing cooldowns lets her throw Energy Wave more frequently, which in turn reduces her other skill cooldowns whenever it hits an enemy. This creates a relentless loop, granting higher uptime on Spatial Migration for aggressive trades or escapes in the EXP Lane.

Genius Wand

Early

Genius Wand amplifies her early-game burst by stripping enemy magic defense with every hit of her multi-tick skills. When Guinevere lands Spatial Migration and channels Violet Requiem, the rapid multi-hit combo rapidly stacks magic defense reduction. This drastic reduction ensures her target takes maximum magic damage during the airborne duration, turning her full combo into an inescapable execute against squishy opponents.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Magic: Dealing Magic Damage to enemy heroes will reduce their Magic Defense by 3-7 (scales with level) for 2s. Stacks up to 3 times.

Concentrated Energy significantly increases Guinevere's sustained magic damage and sustain during multi-hit ultimate channels. As Violet Requiem strikes enemies repeatedly, this item rapidly builds stacks to boost overall magic damage. Furthermore, the combined healing synergy enhances her passive Super Magic enhanced basic attack, keeping her HP healthy while fighting inside the ultimate force field.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Recharge: Increases Magic Power by 5 after dealing Magic Damage (this effect stacks up to 6 times and can only gain 1 stack every 0.4s). When reaching full stacks, increases Magic Damage by 12% for 3s.

After diving enemy lines with Spatial Migration, Guinevere needs defense to survive retaliation. Brute Force Breastplate grants extra physical attack, magic power, and movement speed whenever she deals damage, making her harder to kite. Stacking the passive quickly with her skills gives her control duration reduction, allowing her to break free from enemy crowd control and retreat with her illusion or continue fighting.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Brute Force: Each second after dealing damage, gain 6 extra Physical Attack and Magic Power and 2% extra Movement Speed for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Gain 15% extra Control Duration Reduction at full stacks.

Oracle

Late

Oracle directly enhances Guinevere's innate self-healing capabilities. Her passive Super Magic restores HP on enhanced basic attacks, and Oracle boosts all received shield and HP regen effects. This sustain boost allows her to outlast opponents in extended skirmishes, surviving burst damage after using Violet Requiem and recovering HP quickly using her skill loop.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Bless: Received Shield and HP Regen effects are increased by 30%.

Immortality

Situational

Immortality provides an indispensable safety net for diving into late-game teamfights. If Guinevere leaps into the enemy team with Spatial Migration and gets focused down, the resurrection shield allows her a second chance. Upon reviving, she can use Energy Wave or the second cast of Spatial Migration to blink to safety or finish off low-health targets.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against aggressive enemy lanes where early burst and continuous trades are needed

Rush Genius Wand right after basic boots before finishing Magic Boots. The early magic penetration directly synergizes with Spatial Migration and Energy Wave, giving Guinevere massive early kill pressure against opposing EXP laners who lack early magic defense.

When enemy team composition relies heavily on crowd control and burst damage

Prioritize Brute Force Breastplate right after Genius Wand instead of completing Concentrated Energy immediately. The added movement speed and control duration reduction prevent Guinevere from being locked down and destroyed after diving in with Spatial Migration.

During late-game Lord contests with high-stakes teamfights

Prioritize Immortality before Oracle to ensure survival during frontline dives. Having resurrection ready allows Guinevere to fearlessly initiate with Spatial Migration and channel Violet Requiem, knowing she can revive and escape using her illusion if the initial engage gets countered.
