Warrior Boots - Conceal
Early
Warrior Boots - Conceal gives Chip early movement speed to roam lanes and initiate ganks using Overtime. The Conceal active skill lets Chip stealthily approach enemies before dropping Shortcut for a surprise attack. The physical defense mitigates incoming basic attack damage from physical heroes during early skirmishes, keeping Chip healthy so he can fall back and trigger his Snack Time passive regeneration between fights.
In-game passive Active Skill - Conceal: Success
Dominance Ice is a vital core defensive item for Chip. Its Arctic Cold passive reduces the attack speed of nearby enemy heroes, diminishing their damage output while Chip charges into the frontline with Overtime. Since the Main Portal from Shortcut inherits Chip defensive stats, the extra physical armor makes the portal much sturdier. This protection helps Chip withstand close-range combat after detonating marks with Crash Course.
In-game passive Unique Passive - Arctic Cold: Reduces the Attack Speed of nearby enemy heroes to 70% of normal.
When facing physical skill-based damage, Antique Cuirass triggers its Deter passive to reduce the attacker physical damage whenever Chip is hit by an enemy skill. Chip often absorbs multiple enemy skills while plunging into teamfights with Crash Course. By softening incoming skill damage, Chip retains enough health to survive heavy clashes, disengage to eat chips via Snack Time, and re-enter the fight with Overtime.
In-game passive Unique Passive - Deter: When hit by a skill, reduces the attacker's Physical Damage by 4% for 2s (this effect stacks up to 3 times).
High magic damage can quickly burst Chip down before he can utilize his full kit. Athena's Shield solves this problem through its Shield passive, granting immediate magic damage reduction upon taking magic damage. This enables Chip to survive dangerous magic burst when dropping Shortcut in the middle of enemy formations. The inherited magic durability also ensures allies teleporting to the Main Portal arrive at a protected location.
In-game passive Unique Passive - Shield: Upon taking Magic Damage, gains 25% Magic Damage Reduction for 3s (applied before taking damage). Regains this effect 5s after leaving combat.
Cursed Helmet amplifies Chip frontline impact through its Burning Soul passive, dealing continuous magic damage to surrounding enemies based on his maximum health. This passive continuously burns targets knocked back by Overtime or stunned by Crash Course. The bonus health pool also increases the shield strength gained from Crash Course and fortifies the health pool inherited by the Main Portal during major objective fights.
In-game passive Unique Passive - Burning Soul: Deals Magic Damage equal to 0.6% of the hero's Max HP per second to nearby enemies. This damage is increased by 140% to 350% against creeps and minions (scales with level).
During late game teamfights, Chip often acts as the primary initiator with Shortcut and Overtime. Immortality provides the Immortal passive, reviving Chip shortly after dying with partial health and a shield. This resurrection gives Chip a second opportunity to cast Crash Course for additional crowd control, sustain through passive healing if he escapes, or protect his allies while they utilize the Connecting Portals.
In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).
